RECOMMENDED DIVE EQUIPMENT (if you can think of something to add to this list - let me know scuba@gmskiclub.org )
· Mask and extra mask strap · Strap Fins, extra fin straps and clips · Snorkel and extra snorkel keeper · Buoyancy Jacket with power inflator and whistle · Weight belt and weight stops, if you do not have a wt. Integrated BC (if you have a wt. Integrated BC - weights are provided at the resort) · Regulator with alternate air source (overhauled within the last year) · Computer or an underwater watch/timer · Dive boots · 3 mm full wet suit and/or Lycra skin · Reef gloves (if you have 'em - leave 'em home - not permitted in the marine park) · Logbook · Certification Card (we will vote on the "best " picture" · Dive Tables · Underwater light for night dives ‑ recommended for daytime · Tank light for night dives (no cyalume sticks) · Safety Sausage (not just for breakfast anymore)- highly recommended for divers and snorkelers · Underwater Camera with lots of film and batteries · Extra batteries for lights and computers · Defog for your mask - Defog for your morning brain · Waterproof suntan lotion- unless you bring lots of the other kind · Long and short sleeve T-shirts and hats · Several bathing suits and comfortable sandals · Sweater or lightweight jacket for evening · Triptone of Seacure for motion sickness · Medications in original prescription bottles · Sunglasses with 100% UV protection and floating glass straps · Beach Towel (provided at resort, but nice to have an additional one) · Dry Bag - great for on board the boat · Mesh bag · SeaCure for those marine stings · Waterproof suntan lotion - did I say that again - must be experience speaking · If you are doing the shark dive, you are required to dive with a full 3mm suit that covers your arms and legs. Offers absolutely little protection if you are eaten, but it keeps you from getting other abrasions. There is not a shark dive planned on this trip. |
