Olympiad—a display of our skill and our will

Our ancestors were not the slow, weak, lazy ones who got eaten by the saber-tooth tigers. No. They were the quick, smart, fast ones who beat out the competition and kept the blood line strong.

Now you have a chance to make your ancestors proud. October 6, Saturday, at 3:00 p.m. at Bob Shutter's house, our club will compete against other regional clubs in a winner-take-all contest that will prove who still has the survival instinct. Our team will consist of six gals and six guys; and we need an assortment of talent, since the trials might include an Uno game, egg toss, crazy relay race, horseshoes, volleyball, darts, or perhaps a fishing contest (one point for bluegills, five points for bass or pike).

The winning team will then break up for intra-team competition until there are only two survivors, who will determine the ultimate winner with paint ball guns at ten paces.

The cost of $15 per member gets you a team hat and a chance to win a trophy and cash prizes. Spectators pay $10, and everyone can partake in the victory party afterward with food, beer, a disc jockey and dancing.

We are now forming our "farm team," from which our final team will be selected. Our volunteers so far are:

Gals

  1. Debbie Roger

  2. Linda Urban

  3. Patti Given

Guys

  1. Rob Cooper

  2. Alan Urban

  3. Warren Puggini

  4. Michael Bourke

Skilled members of our club can expect to be drafted for our team, but if you have any hidden talents, uncover them now! For more information, or to volunteer, call team captain, Michael Bourke at 810-776-7685 or Bob Shutter at 248-391-1417.
